SoapBox incorporates a holistic and intersectional approach to name, frame, resist, and reimagine issues into transformative solutions through art and action. Our film, podcast, and editorial work shifts cultural narratives by critiquing the root of oppressive structures while pairing accessible and digestible art and community-building initiatives with deliberate calls to action through a media-based organizing model. Beyond the media we create, we also build power with communities and movements behind the camera, developing and sustaining relationships within movement spaces. This trusted and fostered camaraderie has been forged through short- and long-term campaign planning and strategizing, physical protests, direct mutual aid work, and more. This community-based approach and history of struggle both holds us accountable and strengthens our work.
